Bucks County Rifle Association

Welcome to the website of the Buckinghamshire Rifle Association. The Association was formed in 1945 to promote Target Shooting in the County - this includes Smallbore Rifle (Prone and 3-position), Fullbore Rifle, Gallery Rifle, Air Pistol and Air Rifle (Target  and Field Target).

Up until February 2018 the Association had a Smallbore Range, The Morris Range, situated on the outskirts of Wendover where Open and Confined Meetings were held. The facility was available to BCRA affiliated club members for shooting league cards and practice.  Winter and Summer Smallbore Leagues are organised by BCRA for affiliated clubs.

If you are interested in taking up small-bore target shooting, please see our Clubs page for details of Clubs within Buchinghamshire, or follow one of the links on the Links page to contact a club near you.

The range also had an area dedicated to Wendover Air Rifle Club who shoot sporting air rifle.  The club meets on Wednesdays 18.00 to 10.00 and Saturday 09.00 to 14.00. To contact this club follow the link on the links page for Wendover Air Rifle Club.

The Fullbore Rifle shooters meet at Bisley, Surrey, which is very accessible from Bucks.

The Morris Range

Shooting on the Morris RangeThe Morris Range is our County Range and the facilities are run for the benefit of all our affiliated clubs and individual members. It enjoys a sheltered position just south of Wendover with easy access by car.The main 50 metre / 50 yard and 100 yard ranges are surrounded by trees that provide shelter from most winds and make it one of the more attractive ranges to shoot on. The range was opened around 1953, after a protracted planning and building process

Morris Range, Wendover

It is with great sadness, that I have to report that our ability to use the range closed at the end of February.

The NRA are showing an interest, and negotiations are on-going at the moment with The Baron who owns the site. I am in contact with Andrew Mercer and if we can come to an agreement whereby we are able to resume .22 usage, I will let everyone know.
